Background
Philip's Maps is one of Britain's best-known map, atlas and reference book publishers, with long-established market leaders such as the classic Philip's Modern School Atlas, Sir Patrick Moore's Atlas of the Universe and the bestselling Street Atlas series.
The company required a new e-commerce website to help increase sales and attract new customers but with minimal resources required to maintain the solution.
Solution
We designed a wesbite that is instantly recognisable as the Philip's Maps brand with extensive functionality to make the buying process as simple as possible. Key features include:
- An extensive database of products that integrates content from their distributor and their own internal database. These are both updated automatically to ensure that content is always up to date
- A prominent search facility is available on the homepage along with latest releases
- Imaginet's easy to use shopping basket and secure checkout facility helps to increase sales
- The Multimap API is used to offer on-line mapping and route finding services
- An on-line world atlas using Philp's own digital maps can be browsed providing users with a unique facility
- A CMS allows the company to create additional pages of interest to customers
